Early married women and teenage mothers face many challenges because opportunities for further education and or skills acquisition become closed due to cultural norms and lack of support networks. With total economic dependence on their husbands they are subjected to physical,  emotional and economic abuse.

The challenges increase in stagnating or contracting economies, leaving them in abject poverty despite their potential.

With appropriate digital skills, these disadvantaged women and girls can be empowered to compete effectively for jobs in a networked world.
